When your significant other says; “We need to… take out the garbage, fix the sink, pick up shoes, etc.” there is no need to take action. He/she is using the word we in the royal sense.
The royal “we”, or majestic plural, is the use of a plural pronoun (or corresponding plural-inflected verb forms) to refer to a single person holding a high office, such as a sovereign monarch.
Thus, he or she is probably just making a mental note to circle back and perform this task at a later time. 😐
